1 Full Time Position - Broken Hill
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia South Eastern Section provides comprehensive health services to rural and remote communities in far west NSW, SA and QLD.
Our Mental Health Program is undergoing a period of expansion that includes new Mental Health Nurse positions in both Dubbo and Broken Hill.
These new and exciting roles will work as part of our mental health and drug & alcohol team in conjunction with other RFDS medical staff and local health providers. The roles funded by the Mental Health Nurse Incentive Program (MHNIP) are to provide coordinated clinical care for people living with severe and complex mental illness during periods of significant disability.
The successful applicants will be Credentialed Mental Health Nurses, or will meet eligibility to apply for credentialing with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and will attain this as part of their terms of employment.
These positions will work in conjunction with the client's GP and/or Psychiatrist to inform, manage and review the client's needs. Other services the role will provide include targeted psycho social interventions, monitoring clients mental state and risk, managing client medication, conducting physical health assessment, provide support to family and carers and be able to make appropriate referrals to other health professionals or service providers.
