General Manager - Health Services Development Executive
The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDS SE) is dedicated to providing the finest care to the furthest corners of our vast country. South Eastern Section provides emergency retrieval services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in addition to a significant volume of inter-hospital transfers, remote bush clinics across New South Wales, along with communities in South Australia and Queensland, as well as a medical clinic in Broken Hill, NSW.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health Management executive to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will be responsible for developing our strategic response to population health requirements within the communities we serve.
About the Role
You will develop the health strategy for the South Eastern section to support our future growth and opportunities. As a member of the Executive team you will provide input to the overall strategic direction for the Section. You will be responsible for service design and delivery, clinical education and development, clinical governance, quality and assurance and workforce planning for the Health team. You will provide leadership across our Medical, Nursing, Dental and Allied Health teams, based in Dubbo and Broken Hill. You will represent the RFDS SE at industry forums, working groups and participate in research initiatives to ensure we remain at the forefront of innovative health care solutions. You will use your knowledge of emerging trends to pursue emerging government and other partnership opportunities for the Section.
About You
You have experience in leveraging technology to deliver innovation in health services and their delivery. In addition to utilising technology to support, train and develop your team. You are an experienced leader who has strong reputation for building collaborative, open and transformative culture within teams. You use research and data to support service proposals, business cases and decision making. You are a resilient leader who has successfully managed multi functional teams through significant change.
Your Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Management or Health Policy or related field
• 10+ years experience in health management roles
• Experience providing high level strategic advice and direction
• Management of Health Services in remote, regional and rural communities
• Experience in developing and implementing service plans aligned to population need
• Experience in establishing and providing leadership within networks involving a cross section of community and government
• Demonstrated experience in the development of delivery of audit and quality standards in health care delivery
• Experience in managing and developing clinical governance systems and programs
• Demonstrated success in managing and embedding organisational change
• Experience in implementing new technology to support health care delivery is an advantage
