The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

This Full Time role would be based at our Dubbo base. Reporting to the General Manager Aviation and Strategic Development, the Facilities Manager is
responsible for managing and co-coordinating all infrastructure projects undertaken by the Royal Flying Doctors South East section from conception to completion ensuring that projects
are delivered on time and within budgetary constraints. This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction projects comply with all applicable building codes and any other legal or regulatory requirements.

This is a fixed term appointment for 24 months.

The key duties for this role include:

  • Manage the development of a Facilities Master Plan that is compliant, cost effective and fit for purpose.
  • Regular travel within Australia in support of project delivery, program management and service development.
  • Cost forecasting and management including monitoring construction progress claims and variations
  • Manage and run site meetings and oversee all contractual negotiations and correspondence.
  • Facilitate the interpretation of building plans, regulations and codes of practice to manage progress of works


The Successful Applicant

  • You are a passionate, highly motivated and organised professional with proven results in facilities and logistics management. You will also bring to the role;
  • Proven experience in Construction or Facilities Management with a sound knowledge in building & construction regulations and quality standards
  • A demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to be a highly resourceful and innovative team player with the capacity to be effective independently.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing, leading and coordinating resources.
  • Have excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills.
