Emergency Registrar – Dubbo
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia South Eastern Section provides emergency medical retrievals to a large portion of rural and regional NSW. We currently have a vacancy for 2 Advanced Trainees in Emergency Medicine.
This unique and diverse position is based in Dubbo and offers a mix of emergency medical retrievals and emergency medicine. The position is for 12 months and will be 0.5 in Dubbo Emergency Department and 0.5 Retrieval with RFDS concurrently.
Both of these sites are accredited with ACEM (6 months training for Emergency Medicine and 6 months for a Special Skills term in Pre-hospital and Retrieval.)
The evacuations involve the treatment and transfer of critically ill patients from rural/remote locations in NSW. You will also gain unique experience in developing remote consultation skills for a range of patients. The position would require the trainee to have advanced airway and vascular access skills and be competent at managing critically ill patients.
You will receive five weeks annual leave and two weeks study leave per year. You will be well supported with regular medical training and there is tremendous scope to develop your skills as a clinician in a supportive but demanding environment.
