The RFDS South Eastern Section has provided dental services to people in rural western New South Wales for more than 20 years. Our oral healthcare services and clinics are vital for providing rural and remote communities with access to high-quality dental care.

Although it is well-known for its 24-hour emergency service and aeromedical retrieval, 80 per cent of the RFDS South Eastern Sections’ service provision is in primary health care delivery.

Dentistry is a major part of what we do as people living in remote parts of Australia have limited access to oral healthcare and experience more complications as a result.

We presently have positions for a dentist to join our team. This position provides the opportunity to rapidly grow your professional skill as you work with a multidisciplinary team. The work provides exposure to a broad range of dental conditions, with good patient flow, and mentoring from experienced rural and remote dentist.

As a previous dentist, Dr Minh-Thu Cao Xuan said: “I love my job-it is challenging, satisfying and an invaluable experience. In my time with the RFDS I have grown exponentially on both a clinical and personal level, and I am grateful for such an opportunity. I feel like I make a difference”

Our dental team provides oral health services via fly in fly out clinics from Dubbo and Broken Hill, as well as services from our mobile dental van. The RFDS SE section Dental Team visits over 25 locations across Far West and Western NSW.

We welcome applications from AHPRA registered dentists, who have the right to work in Australia.

To apply please submit your resume and a cover letter to: careers@rfdsse.org.au
