The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

The RFDS South Eastern Section is currently looking for a full time Communications Coordinator to join our busy Marketing and Communications team in Sydney.

The Communications Coordinator will work with internal and external stakeholders to promote the RFDS, ensure consistency in voice and cultivate a strong community around the brand.

As the go-to support person within digital marketing (web, search, display, email, content and social media activities), the purpose of this role is to work with each department of the RFDS South Eastern Section as well as the Federation office, other sections and external stakeholders (agencies, service providers and partners) to produce quality content.

The Communications Coordinator will also assist with the delivery of cost-effective communications to engage external stakeholders, including donors, prospective employees and supporter groups, by promoting the RFDS as a ‘top of mind’ charity and engaging supporters in our vision, work and the RFDS brand.

This position will also be responsible for some specific administrative tasks like administering the web sites and digital assets as well as for supporting the Communications team with general administration duties as required.

Key Requirements:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Communications/Journalism/Marketing);
- Demonstrated experience in internal/external communication. Experience in a health with general administration organisation is desirable but not mandatory;
- Content development skills across various channels, including print, online, video and social media;
- Advanced writing and proof reading skills;
- Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications, experience in Content Management Systems and SharePoint management desirable.
