The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (South Eastern Section) is seeking applications from a suitably qualified person to lead our RFDS Broken Hill Base.

Our Base is a multi functional site, delivering remote health clinics in far western NSW, as well as parts of QLD and SA. We also run an onsite medical clinic in Broken Hill and provide emergency medical services 24/7. We have a diverse workforce including Doctors, Nurses, Pilots, Engineers, Allied Health workers as well as administration and operations support teams.

The RFDS has strong ties to the local and surrounding communities who have come to expect high quality, reliable services, delivered by engaged and passionate people.

What you bring to the role:

You are a confident, personable and engaging leader. You are passionate about ensuring a high quality, reliable health service for regional and remote communities in far western NSW.

You have worked in complex multi functional environments, across diverse geographies and thrive on bringing people together tin support of a common goal.

You have strong management/organisational skills, preferably with a background in aviation or areomedical operations.

Importantly you are solution focused and tenacious in your pursuit of continuous improvement and client satisfaction.

You have the ability to liaise effectively at all levels with a diverse range of people & disciplines both internally and externally and are able to set high expectations because you have a reputation as a strong leader.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an operational role
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a multi functional environment
  • Demonstrated experience in contract and or commercial management
  • Demonstrated experience in leading people in a matrix organisation
  • Ability to bring solutions to problems and issues as they arise and develop business cases to support recommendations.
  • Proficient IT skills and experience with MS Office products.

Desirable Knowledge and/or Experience

  • Bachelor of Business, Commerce or other relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of rural and remote NSW geographically and understanding of remote locations and the difficulties faced by local people and their access to medical services
  • Knowledge of the Aviation regulatory environment
  • Knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering
  • Knowledge and experience in quality assurance and auditing functions

Remuneration

An attractive remuneration package including a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, together with salary sacrifice provisions will be provided to the successful candidate.
