Description

The RFDS (South Eastern Section) is an organisation that requires little introduction. With a 95 year history our name is synonymous with being a trusting health care provider and one of the most comprehensive aeromedical services in the world.

Beyond our traditional retrieval and emergency services our health care now covers Dental, Mental Health, Patient Transport and Primary Health Care.

We’re currently seeking a passionate and innovative Primary Health Nurse to join our Primary Health team to provide a mantle of care to those in rural and remote NSW.

Responsibilities will include:

• Support the delivery of clinical services in Nurse-led clinics
• Chronic disease management plans and health assessments
• Provide culturally safe women’s, child and family health care
• Travel between our Dubbo base and our clinics in various locations across northwest NSW

Working closely with our Team Leader and General Practitioner, this role is pivotal to the success of our nurse-led clinics and services we provide. We value each other’s contribution and professional experience and stand by our motto ‘there’s always time for coffee’.

Essential criteria:

• AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse
• 3+ years full-time equivalent (FTE) experience in Primary Health Care settings
• Provide proficient evidence-based chronic disease management
• A willingness and ability to travel and stay in rural and remote communities, dependent upon clinic and community need
• Qualifications in Womens Health and immunisation certificates
• Have a genuine interest in preventative care and health education
