Commercial Data Reporting Analyst

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Reporting Analyst to join our Finance Team based in Sydney. You will play a crucial role in gathering, extracting and analysing data from various sources to provide meaningful insights which assists the organisation to adapt to market and environmental changes in productive and cost-effective ways.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, understand and interpret organisational requirements and recommend solution options.
  • Produce detailed designs including for example: physical data flows, file layouts, common routines and utilities, program specifications or prototypes, and backup, recovery and restart procedures.
  • Use database management system software and tools, knowledge of logical database schemata, investigate problems, collect performance statistics and create reports.
  • Review and understand commercial funding contracts from the perspective of their reporting requirements and obligations, and the required data flows from operational activities to reports.
  • Generates and disseminates reports to management, funding bodies and other stakeholders as required on both a regular and ad-hoc request basis.
  • Specify and develop test scenarios to validate the new/updated processes.
  • Deliver improved ways of working for the end user at the same time as delivering efficiencies and planned business benefits ensuring that tests are coordinated and outcomes are reported on.
  • Assess the integrity of data from multiple sources.
  • Configure software (including system integrations) and tests platform-specific versions of one or more software products.
  • Define accessibility, retrievability and security of specific subsets of data.
  • Provide advice on the transformation of data/information from one format/medium to another, where appropriate.
What you offer
  • Degree in Information Technology, Business or similar field
  • 2+ years relevant work experience
  • Proven database management experience
  • Strong foundations of digital and database analysis
  • Intermediate skills in SQL including managing and maintaining our SQL Server database and ability to troubleshoot and debug performance issues
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Power Platform (Tableau, Power BI & Alteryx)
  • Advance Microsoft Excel (including complex macro processes and VBA automation)
  • Reporting / analytical systems design
  • Ability to solve problems and interpret various data structures
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Experience in reviewing commercial contract requirements and reporting obligations
  • Developing data models and visualisations for consumptions by end users
  • Transferable skills in similar data and integration technologies will be considered
  • Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination
