Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) provides comprehensive health services to rural and remote communities in Far West NSW, SA and QLD.

The Health Quality and Safety Officer (HQSO), based in Broken Hill, NSW is responsible for supporting the organisation to deliver quality outcomes in clinical care by supporting clinical quality & safety initiatives such as incident management and investigation, complaint management and investigation, developing and delivering quality improvement initiatives, change management, risk identification and management and safety promotional activities across the RFDSSE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health-related field or relevant equivalent work experience, or
  • A combination of study and work experience that demonstrates a track record in quality, safety and risk management
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in integrated clinical risk, patient safety and quality systems and standards used to monitor and evaluate health services, including the National Safety and Quality and Health Service Standards
  • Demonstrated skills in managing a number of projects concurrently, with varying timeframes and workloads, in a high-volume work environment
  • Proven data analysis skills and the ability to use computer technology effectively in order to collect, monitor and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data from core clinical quality and patient safety systems, including incident management
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 31000:2009 standards and NSQHS Standards
  • Understanding of the Work, Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Evidence of COVID19 Vaccination is essential.
