Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote and regional Australia.
Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) (RFDSSE) is now seeking applications for the full-time position of Engineering Manager based in our Sydney office at Surry Hills.
Reporting to the General Manager Aviation, the Engineering Manager is responsible for all functions relating to aircraft maintenance performance. The Engineering Manager provides support and direction to the Engineering teams across the RFDSSE while consistently innovating and improving its services.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a senior engineering management role, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills. This exciting role is ideal for a motivated individual seeking a rewarding opportunity in a complex and challenging environment.
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Have held an Engineering Manager role for an aircraft operator.
- Be a change leader who motivates and regularly assesses performance, both formally and informally, including providing positive and constructive feedback.
- Hold a current aircraft engineer licence and have qualification in one of the following fields: diploma in aviation maintenance management, diploma in engineering (aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical, electronics).
- Working knowledge of computer-based maintenance systems (Rusada NextGen is highly desirable)
- Be able to travel regularly to RFDS bases (Bankstown, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Essendon and Launceston) and other locations, often at short notice.
- Have a demonstrated understanding of Safety and Quality Management Systems.
- Have demonstrated experience in leading the development of CASR expositions.
- Be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and a Working with Children authorisation.
