The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) South Eastern Section has opportunities available for Retrieval Registrars across both Emergency and Anaesthetics to join our Dubbo base with intakes occurring in 2022 and 2023.

Based in Dubbo, with rotations to our Broken Hill base, Retrieval Registrars work across RFDS Emergency Retrieval, Dubbo Base Hospital as well as provide emergency telehealth services to remote communities.

Retrieval Registrar Emergency:
RFDS is accredited with ACEM for 6 months Special Skills in Pre-Hospital Medicine

Retrieval Registrar Anaesthetics:
Dubbo Base Hospital Anaesthetic department is accredited for 6 months of training with ANZCA with approval for 6 months of training in Pre-hospital and Retrieval Medicine by individual agreement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
    Advanced trainee least 18 months critical care (ED or ICU) and 6 months of Anaesthetics experience
  • Experience in the management of critically ill patients including trauma
  • Knowledge of ALS, APLS, ATLS (or equivalents) and modern critical care practice
  • Evidence of competency in procedures relevant to critical care
  • Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination
