Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care from mental health to dental services and 24-hour emergency care to those who live in and travel through rural, regional and remote Australia.
About the Role
Based in Dubbo we're currently seeking a Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service Registered Nurse (NEPTS RN) to care for patients accessing the NEPTS for transfer from facility to facility. They will operate within both the aeromedical and road transport environments.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring patients remain clinically stable during their occasion of care
- Provide ongoing communication with the patient and their medical escort
- Identify clinical deterioration and escalate clinical concerns in an appropriate and timely fashion
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA); and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualifications (or an ability to obtain same);
- Minimum 3 years acute post graduate nursing experience, or demonstrated skill level;
- 1 year ICU/ ED experience;
- Demonstrate compliance with NSW Health Occupational Vaccine (Cat A Staff);
- Current Police and Working with Children checks (or an ability to obtain same);
- NSW Drivers Licence;
- Eligible for Aviation Security ID Card (ASIC); and
- Ability to undertake a pre-employment medical.
- Evidence of full COVID19 Vaccination
- Any other relevant acute care or emergency skills;
- DETECT and DETECT junior;
- Previous triage experience; or
- Post registration qualifications in a relevant acute area or First Line Emergency Care Course (FLECC) qualifications.
