Philanthropy Manager

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

To assist us to provide these world class services we are seeking applications from a motivated and dynamic person to play a key role in our ambitious and exciting Fundraising program.

Based in our Sydney Office in Surry Hills, the Philanthropy Manager is a pivotal role, responsible for leading the planning, development and implementation of our major donor strategy as part of the Fundraising Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • High-level engagement and relationships with donors, prospects, Board and other key stakeholders
  • Develop compelling proposals for individuals, trusts and foundations and corporates
  • Deliver agreed organisational targets for funds raised from individuals, corporates and trusts
  • Lead and manage the major gift strategy and program to contribute to the financial growth in the Fundraising Strategy.
  • Provide leadership and line management to direct report/s. Monitor performance and feedback through regular performance appraisals and manager connects
Essential Criteria for the Role
  • Passionate about fundraising and philanthropy
  • Experience and expertise in developing relationships with major donors
  • Proficient understanding of Fundraising industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent digital skills, experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar database
  • Track record of outstanding success in high level major gift fundraising
  • Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination
