Primary Health Nurse (Lightning Ridge)

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Eastern Section) is looking for a suitably experienced Registered Nurse to join our Primary Health Team in Lightning Ridge.

The Primary Health Nurse will be engaged on a permanent full-time basis, to provide primary health services across North Western NSW. The role encompasses clinical, quality and educational services across the age spectrum.

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing mobile COVID-19 respiratory/testing clinics
• Provide comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Primary Health Care including Chronic Disease Management, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Health promotion, Early Intervention
• Provide culturally safe Women’s Child and Family Health care which reflects indigenous family dynamics and parenting practice as required
• Infection control co-ordination
• Provide information, reports and suggestions to the Health Service Manager with regards to potential service needs

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse with non-conditional APHRA registration
• Experience with electronic medical record systems, preferably Medical Director or Best Practice
• Experience working in community and clinic based Primary Health settings in rural and remote areas
• Basic Life Support Certification
• Immunisation certification (or willingness to obtain) \
• Excellent computer literacy, prioritisation and time management skills
• Ability and willingness to travel to locations in the north west of NSW, either by aircraft or road, including overnight stays.
