Based in Sydney or Dubbo

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.
Working with both internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible to cultivate brand awareness and engagement to inspire a wide variety of audiences including current and prospective employees

What you get to do:

  • Act like an in-house “reporter” to find and develop stories about the life-saving work of the Flying Doctor to inspire the public and our supporters.
  • Lead in the development of multi-channel communications for internal and external audiences, including through media and by the production of videos, podcasts, newsletters, publications, photography, and anything else that will tell a compelling story.
  • Manage the communications digital assets and drive our social media channels.
  • Communicate with our highly diverse teams including corporate, pilots, doctors, nurses and many others to inspire them to feel a part of a great team.
  • Work tightly with the communications team to deliver the communications strategy.

What experience do you have?
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations.
  • Journalistic experience in sourcing and developing human interest stories.
  • Ability to produce to completion quality multimedia content including video and photography.
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Advanced writing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience in Content Management Systems for social media, newsletters, and intranet is desirable.
