Health Service Manager

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is seeking applications for the position of Health Service Manager Broken Hill.

This is pivotal leadership position that will manage the operations of the Health Service, including traditional bases, remote clinics and fixed and mobile sites related to the Broken Hill Base. They will work closely with the Senior Medical Officer to lead and manage the Health Service and provide direction and support to all related staff and operations. This is an influential role for an effective and business focused leader.

Qualifications / Experience that we are looking for:

• Appropriate Health Service Management qualifications/experience
• An understanding of rural and remote practice in both Primary Health and Emergency/Transport Health Services.
• Demonstrated high level skills in senior management, including people leadership, change management and service development
• Experience in strategic and operational planning
• Budget and financial acumen
• Registration with AHPRA is desirable but not essential

The successful candidate will be supported to succeed in the position with a period of induction and coaching with our General Manager Health, and relevant Senior Medical Officer. We are seeking an experienced and exceptional leader with a range of skills, who can guide, mentor and support a team in a complex and varied health service environment.
