Description

Clinical Lead Mental Health Professional

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.

The mental health, alcohol & other drug programs have dramatically increased with the successful award of program grants and additional commonwealth and donor funding. This Clinical Lead position will be replicated in both our Broken Hill & Dubbo based ‘hubs’ to support and contribute to the management and further development of our mental health, alcohol & other drug programs.

Working in conjunction with the Senior Mental Health & AoD Manager and Mental Health & AoD Operations Manager the role will be responsible for:
  • Delivering high quality mental health services to adult clients
  • Work across the stepped care model from well to complex client care needs, therapy and coordination
  • Deliver local and outreach clinics
  • Ensure and promote integration with other service providers both internal and external
  • Collaborate with local agencies to undertake local projects and activities
  • Oversee clinical orientation processes for new staff
Essential Criteria:
  • Relevant tertiary degree with active AHPRA registration (if applicable) or membership to professional body
  • Graduate qualification in mental health clinical model
  • Experience at a Clinical Nurse Consultant level or very similar work experience
  • Knowledge of current mental health legislation.
  • Knowledge of broad range of therapeutic assessment and intervention techniques.
