RFDS WA continued to deliver critical and essential health care across Western Australia, providing care to an average of 54 people each day in the financial year 2025-26.

From remote communities and regional towns to some of the State's most isolated workplaces, every RFDS flight, consultation and emergency response plays a vital role in improving access to health care across Western Australia - the world's largest health jurisdiction.

We have been delivering health care to the furthest corners of WA for nearly 100 years, and are proud to offer our service at no-cost to Western Australians.

Our service is made possible through our dedicated crew and the valued support of the WA community - our corporate partners, generous donors, volunteers and the communities we serve.

The support we receive makes such a meaningful difference and helps us continue to provide health care to Western Australians when they need it most.

Supporting regional and remote communities

People living, working and travelling through regional and remote Western Australia deserve access to high-quality health care when they need it.

Through Primary Health Care Clinics and remote consultations, RFDS WA helps connect people with essential health care close to home.

More than 600 medical chests located throughout regional and remote Western Australia provide emergency medications and medical supplies when medical assistance may be hours away.

Strong partnerships, greater impact

Delivering health care across more than 2.5 million square kilometres would not be possible without the support of our partners.

From supporting emergency responses in remote workplaces to helping fund critical equipment, aircraft and programs, we’re so grateful for our partners who play a vital role in ensuring Western Australians can access care when and where it's needed most.

in FY2025-26, RFDS WA:

  • Completed 551 mine site retrievals
  • Worked alongside 32 corporate and community partners

Caring for WA's youngest patients

When a child or newborn requires urgent specialist care, timely access to treatment can make all the difference. Throughout FY2025-26, RFDS WA worked closely with the Newborn Emergency Transport Service WA (NETS WA) to help connect some of the State's youngest patients with the critical care they needed.

RFDS WA safely transferred 409 patients under 15 years old. Together with NETS WA, we retrieved 191 newborns ensuring young patients from across Western Australia could access medical care when it mattered most.

Looking ahead

Demand for our critical service continues to grow. Our crew retrieved 176 more patients than the previous financial year and serviced 461 additional flights.

An independent Deloitte Access Economics report found RFDS WA is expected to deliver $4.1 billion in social value to Western Australians over the next 30 years, while supporting more than 20,000 people living and working in regional WA each year.

The report found that knowing RFDS WA exists provide peace of mind for families and communities today, and assurance that future generations can continue to access our critical service.

Thank you to our supporters, partners, volunteers and crew who make a meaningful impact in improving health outcomes for people and communities across the furthest corners of WA.
