Mental Health Worker
An opportunity exists for an experienced Mental Health Worker to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania community-based mobile mental health team.
Working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Tasmania you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals providing health care to people living and working in rural and remote Australia.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is seeking to recruit four full-time mental health workers to join our mobile team. Specialising in the provision of youth mental health services, the successful candidates will work collaboratively to provide early identification and therapeutic intervention for young people aged between 8-16 years.
Two teams, located on the east and west coast respectively, will deliver community-based services providing treatment, support and education for individuals and communities. The provision of mobile services will be delivered in an outreach capacity from either Launceston or Hobart.
The role will provide low to moderate intensity mental health services to young people aged 8-16 years. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering evidence based psychological interventions in a young person’s own community.
The positions will be offered for an initial period of 3 years with the possibility of continuing subject to ongoing funding and remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience (Health Professionals Award)
