RFDS Tennant Creek Patient Transfer Facility coming soon
The RFDS is set to build its first remote Patient Transfer Facility in the Northern Territory.
Your Flying Doctor lands in Tennant Creek at least once a day to transfer patients from Tennant Creek Hospital to Darwin or Alice Springs for further treatment.
A new Patient Transfer Facility will feature:
> An undercover hangar so patients can be transferred in and out of RFDS aircraft
> A climate-controlled area where retrieval teams can stabilise patients pre- and post-flight
> Modern amenities including patient bathroom and crew rest areas
> Direct access from the aircraft to the Patient Transfer Facility
