The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) of Western Australia is excited to announce a new partnership with Abra Mining.

Donating $50,000 to the RFDS, Abra Mining's support will enable the RFDS to continue to provide world-class care to people who live and work in regional and remote Western Australia for the next generation.

Abra Base Mining Metals Mine is a globally significant lead-silver project located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, between the towns of Newman and Meekatharra.

"The RFDS has played a part in the development of the Abra Mine and the company is grateful to know that the RFDS is there," Tony James, Abra Mining CEO said.

"We are delighted to be able to support and work with the RFDS in any way we can."

The RFDS in Western Australia responds to 28 patients a day from anywhere across the State, but can respond to up to 41 patients on its busiest day.

In the last year, the RFDS retrieved 1,882 patients from the Mid West and Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

"We are so grateful to have established this valuable partnership with Abra Mining," Rebecca Maddern, RFDS Head of Community said.

"Our shared purpose is to provide safety and peace of mind to people living and working in remote areas of WA."
