Award-winning theatre company THEATRE 180 is inviting Western Australians whose lives have been touched by the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Western Australia to share their story.
For almost 100 years, the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Western Australia (RFDS WA) has been there for people living, working and travelling in regional and remote WA when they need it most.
In celebration of RFDS's 100th anniversary in 2028, THEATRE 180 is embarking on a major new community storytelling project to share the extraordinary impact of RFDS WA and capture the human stories behind the organisation.
THEATRE 180 is calling for stories from patients, family members, doctors, nurses, pilots, volunteers, support staff and members of remote communities. Whether it was a life-saving emergency retrieval, a routine clinic visit, medical or aviation work in remote WA, or simply the reassurance of knowing help was available when it was needed most, every story forms part of RFDS WA's history.
No story is too big or too small.
THEATRE 180's creative team will travel throughout Western Australia to interview and engage with communities to capture stories that reflect the diversity of people and communities served by the RFDS.
These memories and experiences will help the creation of a radio play, exhibition and a new theatrical production by THEATRE 180, honouring a century of courage, compassion and connection across regional and remote Western Australia.
