Technology Project Manager
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has an outstanding history of service and excellence in aero-medical and primary health care across Australia. We are one of Australia's most iconic brands, every hour of every day the RFDS is performing life-saving work across Western Australia.
RFDS has a rare opportunity for a seasoned Technology Project Manager to lead the planning, scoping, procurement and delivery of information and technology, digital and business transformation projects in this complex and unique organisation. This is a major time of change for this long established organisation and this position will play a key role in the delivery of the IT transformation roadmap being rolled out across our Western Australia operations.
About the role
• To ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to expected business outcomes
• To work in a highly collaborative approach with business leads, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders
• To manage project health, risks and delays and deliver high value, high risk complex information and technology projects
• To undertake project planning, scoping, development, business case preparation, project and resource coordination, project management, financial management, procurement, contracts management, vendor management, risk and issue management, change management and business analysis
• Lead and promote project management strategies, methodologies and processes that are fit for purpose and in line with best practice
• Lead the development of project management documentation and tools
• Work in line with program management governance frameworks, ensuring appropriate project governance is in place to build transparency, trust and confidence by the business in technology delivery
• Lead by example, providing effective leadership and support to the business by contributing pro-actively as an effective ambassador of RFDSWO
About you
• Tertiary qualifications in ICT or a relevant, related business qualification
• Strong experience leading technology or digital transformation portfolio and program delivery functions and services in a large complex organisation, ideally a not-for-profit organisation
• Relevant program and project management certifications such as Prince2, MSP, PMBOK
• Highly developed program, project and contract management skills and experience with a strong track record in managing, meeting and delivering projects on time, on budget and to expected standards
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead, motivate, mentor, coach others and manage resources
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements and technical jargon into an accessible format
• Excellent organisation skills, ability to prioritise and plan work effectively, and a flexible approach and mindset to adapt in a transformation environment
