RFDS has a rare opportunity for Technology leader to join at what is an exciting time of technology change. Forming part of the Organisational Projects Delivery Team and broader interdisciplinary team, you will lead the planning, scoping and delivery of the foundation, transformative and innovative information and technology program.

With a new Strategic Direction underpinned by a strong ICT Strategic Roadmap, you will establish and lead the technology project delivery team, working across business to achieve project outcomes and benefits on time, on budget and in line with business requirements. You will be part of the leadership team to mature the right level of governance and oversight through the project management office so as to ensure transparency and confidence in program and project success. You will work amongst incredibly talented and passionate doctors, nurses and pilots as RFDS continues to delivery aeromedical and health care services to our regional and remote communities.

About the role

• Responsible for the formulation of the Technology program, ensuring the projects will collectively deliver the ICT Strategic Roadmap and realise benefits
• Delivers against the ICT Strategic Roadmap, on time, on budget and to expected quality, ensuring program and project processes, frameworks, policies and standards in relation to program coordination and project management, financial management, procurement, project development, planning and scoping, business case preparations and service provider performance are well defined, embedded and compliant with corporate policies and procedures
• Leads the planning, scoping, procurement, and delivery of the Technology program, ensuring achievement of outcomes and benefits realisation, including developing the technology program plan and achievement of that plan
• Identifies, manages, and reports on program and project risks, issues, benefits, costs, change, and impact to wider business and as required
• In line with program management governance frameworks, ensure implementation of appropriate project governance and oversight to build transparency, trust and confidence by the business in technology delivery
• Actively engage in business transformation initiatives and lead the transitioning of other teams and individuals using appropriate communication and methods
• Model and promote a safety culture through active safety leadership at all times
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate delivery of the Technology program
• Maintain a strong consumer focus in your role
• Make all interactions with internal and external stakeholders and consumers engaged or supporting the Technology program

About you

• Significant experience leading and successfully delivering technology or digital transformation portfolio and programs, including delivery functions and services within a large, complex organisation or not for profit undergoing complex technology change and transformation.
• Sound foundational knowledge of ICT infrastructure and architecture
• Highly developed program, project and contract management skills and experience with proven ability to manage and meet project outcomes on time, on budget and to expected standards
• Substantial experience in leading teams and managing resources with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, mentor and coach others
• Significant experience in developing, prioritising, and delivering large and complex capital investment program, meeting strategic business objectives all while balancing internal and external stakeholder needs and expectations
• Significant experience in strategic planning, change management and system development
• Tertiary business qualifications or other relevant qualifications with additional relevant program management certification including Prince2, MSP or other like certifications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and plan work effectively, remain adaptive and flexible, and coordinate office procedures and activities
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
• Due to the nature of the role, the ability to work outside normal office hours and travel (including interstate) may be required
