RFDS-WO is experiencing record demand for its services and undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation.
We are searching for Relieving Operations Coordinators to join the RFDS team based at the Jandakot base on a full-time fixed-term basis, for an initial 12 month period.
The roles will be responsible for the effective coordination of key aeromedical resources to ensure the highest level of service is delivered. This will be achieved in collaboration with operational aviation & clinical teams, through assessment and judgement to identify all relevant factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding consumer service in handling all incoming communications, including requests for medical evacuations and consultations
- Process flight requests to meet response time measures for all patients, determined by clinical priority
- Constantly assess crew and aircraft availability, environmental and operational limitations
- Organise charter evacuations
- Make decisions on flight tasking using all relevant information to guide decisions
- Identify departure and arrival times and maintain effective communications with the operational crew
- Coordinate returning patient flights (repatriations) including liaison with the discharging hospital
- Maintain vigilance with regard to all operational communication systems/mediums – including VHF/satellite phones & email
- Administrative tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures and by Line Managers
- Cover all types of leave
As the successful candidate, you must have:
- A demonstrated ability to deliver operational outcomes in cooperation with partner agencies
- Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Experience in working within a fast-paced operational environment or a similar field
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach as well as being solution focussed at all times
