PMO Lead
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has an outstanding history of service and excellence in aero-medical and primary health care across Australia. We are one of Australia's most iconic brands, every hour of every day the RFDS is performing life-saving work across Western Australia.
RFDS has a rare opportunity for a gifted and seasoned PMO Lead to drive the IT Transition roadmap in our Western Operations, providing situational and strategical leadership in this major technology transformation project. Forming part of the Organisational Projects Delivery Team and broader interdisciplinary team, the Project Management Officer Lead (PMO Lead) is a team leader, program management office specialist and educator in respect to the transformation, program and project management competencies.
About the role
• To lead, collaborate and manage appropriate portfolio/program management governance
• Oversee processes, ways of working and support the organisational projects delivery team, support and enable the business to prioritise, sequence and deliver on major, enterprise wide and strategic projects
• Provide transparency of strategic projects on time, on budget and to expected standards
• Take a lead role in the formulation of strategic and operational objectives, plans and developments
• Support key internal stakeholders establish and maintain effective PPM and portfolio and program management frameworks, programs, processes, standards and ways of working to ensure effective delivery and integrity of projects
• Manage and support integration programs and projects to facilitate change, improve efficiency and be a catalyst for new business opportunities
• Work in collaboration with key internal departments to align with their corporate frameworks, processes and ways of working to help transition their systems to the new future state via the IT transition roadmap
• Oversee the establishment of program governance boards, advisory groups, steering groups, steering committees and working groups to encourage business buy-in, engagement and change
• Develop and maintain a portfolio risk register, resource schedule and map resources to projects
• Recognise and manage complexities, contradictions and resistance surrounding transformation initiative and work with stakeholders to overcome challenges
About you
• Possess significant experience leading portfolio/program management office functions and services within a large, complex organisation or not for profit undergoing complex change and transformation
• Have tertiary business qualifications in ICT or a relevant field
• Have a relevant program management certification including Prince2, MSP or similar
• Ideally possess post graduate qualifications in business management and leadership
• Ideally possess experience of working in a not-for-profit sector
• Be an advanced user of MS Office
• Possess excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise, plan and manage resources and time effectively
• Demonstrate superior communications skills with the ability to negotiate, engage and lead
