Operations Support Officer

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Western Operations is seeking an Operations Support Officer to join our Regional Operations Centre (ROC) on a 0.8FTE basis. This critical role involves managing data capture, administration, and information dissemination tasks to support operational readiness and ensure compliance with aeromedical service delivery requirements. Working closely with the Regional Operations Centre, Performance and Data Teams, the successful candidate will contribute to the seamless operation of RFDS' aeromedical services and support identification of strategies for continuous improvement.

About you
- Highly organised with excellent administrative and data management skills.
- Proficient in working in data administration and use of software tools to monitor performance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience in operational readiness or a related field is desirable.

About the role
- Ensure accurate and reliable entry of operational data into information systems.
- Monitor aeromedical operations and support developing of briefing and reports regarding RFDS WO operational readiness and fulfillment of contractual KPIs.
- Support the coordination of operational readiness activities, including planning and scheduling.
- Provide administrative assistance for inter-departmental collaboration and rostering updates.
- Assist in identifying and addressing service delivery shortfalls and proposing remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with the Data Team to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
- Support applications and briefs for operational KPI compliance and eligible relief events.

About Us
The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care. The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra. Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State. We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.

In 2024, the RFDS WO launched a new five-year strategy ‘Above and Beyond’, which will mark an important new chapter in the long Flying Doctor history. The strategy will include a focus on expanding remote health clinics in some of WA’s most vulnerable communities, expanding our profit-for-purpose services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing technology and addressing our environmental sustainability.
