This role is responsible for leading our projects team and will see you ensuring projects are delivered as per the organistions strategic objectives, by monitoring and identifying success and areas for improvement. You will be a strong relationship builder who will work across the organisation to provide support and expertise on a range of projects.



About you


- Accreditation or formal training in a project management framework such as PRINCE2.
- Demonstrated program management experience
- The ability to plan, prioritise, make decisions, and manage resources for a range of programs..
- Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills
- High level interpersonal and communication with strengths in negotiation.
- Demonstrated financial management and budget preparation.
- Experience in leading project activity, project management, or a Project Management Office (desirable).
- Able to use relevant software tools such as Microsoft Project (desirable).


About the role


- Supporting the translation of identified opportunities into defined programs, projects, and/or initiatives.
- Providing insights and strategic and specialist advice and recommendations.
- Overseeing the implementation of programs, projects and/or initiatives.
- Providing high level support and expertise in the development of project management documentation.
- Formulating strategies and designing approaches to program management governance.
- Identifying and reporting on changes in project scope.
- Managing the investigation and analysis of complex issues, policies, practices and/or procedures associated with the project to identify solutions and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring the progress of projects to ensure that milestones and performance indicators are met within time and budget constraints.
- Directing and managing project implementation and, where necessary, negotiating with senior managers regarding implementation issues and benefits management.
- Ensuring alignment with strategic direction.
- Providing management and leadership to the Projects team.
- Developing and maintaining key internal and external business relationships.

About Us


The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care. The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra. Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State. We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.
