Finance Officer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering extended leave for both accounts payable and accounts receivable, so we are seeking someone that can hit the ground running. In addition you will be managing the aged debtors and creditors and performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
About you
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of Accounting Standards, GST and FBT
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable:
- Experience with TechnologyOne
- CPA/CIMA/CA (or working towards) equivalent certification preferred
About the role
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and documenting procedures notes
- Identifying more efficient ways of working and streamlining processes
- Manage debtors and creditors
- Entering AP invoices
- Creating AP payments
- Raising invoices for AR
- Coding and entry of expense-claims
- Performing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and making corrections
- Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections
- Processing journals
- Batch payments and invoicing
- Receipt and allocate all payments to correct invoices with a high degree of accuracy
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Assist with ad hoc tasks as assigned
