We are currently seeking a Communications Lead to join our Community Relations team based in Jandakot. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, this 0.6FTE (22.8hrs per week) role is responsible for planning and executing strategies, campaigns, initiatives and projects to enhance community understanding and support for our organisation.

About you

Extensive experience in strategic communications and marketing across a range of settings
Demonstrated leadership skills which reflect RFDS WO Values, as well as ability to provide strategic advice at a senior level
Proven experience in effective media liaison and issues management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver high quality content tailored to target audiences across multiple channels
Multimedia skills such as videography, photography and basic design capability
Understanding of media monitoring, website CMS and social media tools
Degree qualification in a relevant discipline (eg communications, public relations, marketing) and significant relevant experience

About the role
Lead external communication functions and develop and deliver the Communications and Marketing strategy in conjunction with the Communications and Marketing Manager
Protect and enhance reputation and awareness of RFDS WO through excellent communication and connection with audiences
Provide strategic advice at a senior level for critical incidents, issues management, marketing and brand strategy, corporate communications and engagement, media management, events and internal communications
Lead content creation including video, photography, articles, interviews and other assets to meet the needs of Community Relations and the wider organisation
Supervise the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to manage and monitor website and social media channels

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia.
