The RFDS is one of Australia’s most loved and well-known charities. As a member of the team, you’ll have the privilege of working with some of our most dedicated supporters, community groups and corporate partners to help spread the word about the great work the RFDS is doing across the State.

About the role

This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to gain excellent experience, be creative and innovative, and be an integral part of the RFDS team.

Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the delivery of the RFDS’ overall marketing and communications strategy.

This role will create and share content for our digital channels, promote our services, monitor media and social media activity, support the fundraising team to meet campaign goals, work collaboratively with other members of the team and external contractors to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate marketing campaigns and manage our website requirements.

Our team is small but mighty. The person in this role will also need to roll their sleeves up with tasks like videography and photography, design projects, and supporting RFDS events and activities (sometimes during evenings and on weekends), administration and internal communications.

This position will suit an early-to-mid career professional looking to make their mark in a highly regarded Australian organisation.

- The ability to be a team player as well as work autonomously.
- E-commerce experience (using Shopify) is desirable.

- Salary packaging - up to $15,900 per annum for everyday expenses and up to $2,650 per annum on meals and entertainment expenses
- Novated Lease options
- Hybrid work environment
- Workplace culture of teamwork and collaboration

What your average day might look like in this role

Starting the day with a check of our social media channels, you’ll be across who’s posting what, commenting where and what the issues of the day are shaping up to be.

Next you might get in touch with our graphic designer to brief them on an upcoming advertising campaign for one of our fundraising appeals or partnership campaigns.

After a strategy chat with the team about our upcoming fundraising appeal, you’ll hop on the phone to arrange a photoshoot with a former patient who’s reached out to us via social media and wants to share their story. Their experience will feature prominently in our upcoming donor letter and will become a compelling case for individuals to donate to the RFDS.

In the afternoon you’ll head into our aircraft hangar to facilitate some filming with our crews. These videos will be used for social media, donor communication, internal communications and general promotion to showcase the work we do for Western Australia.

Rounding out the day, you’ll prepare social media posts for the rest of the week, check in on merchandise sales, update some website content, EDM and social media analytics and process some invoices.
