Chief Financial Officer
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and commercially driven CFO to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service in WA.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service in WA is a not for profit public company limited by guarantee, with a turnover of $85m, staff of 300 and operating a fleet of 15 aircraft from 6 bases across the State, with our
corporate headquarters at Jandakot. This is a 24/7 business operating in the aviation and health sectors that enjoys 'Australian Icon' status due to the vital service delivered to people living, working and travelling across Western Australia.
The CFO works closely with the CEO, an executive team of seven and the Board, and plays a significant leadership role in a number of key areas:
- Developing the strategy for ensuring the longterm financial strength of the business
- Exploring and developing commercial incomestream business opportunities that supplement core business activities
- Leading best practice Balance Sheet and Cash Flow optimisation
- Cultivating and leading a more commercially focussed capability and culture across the business
- Establishing the highest standards of corporate governance, audit compliance, and financial management
- Accountability for identification of organisational risk. Working with the Board Audit and Risk Committee to embed
risk mitigation strategies and a risk management framework - Engagement with corporate and government stakeholders in contract and funding negotiations
- Proactive management of margins on operational activities, and ROI policies for all investments, and commercial business activities
The CFO is directly responsible for leading a finance, accounting, and risk management team, but more importantly has carriage of organisation wide safe, effective, and efficient operations, and overall financial performance of the business.
The CFO has direct responsibility for financial management, cost benefit analysis, budgeting and reporting, treasury management, contract negotiation, information management, project and risk management and quality assurance and corporate governance.
The successful candidate will have formal business qualifications and significant commercial or corporate sector experience at the Executive level.
