RFDS has an amazing opportunity for another passionate and talented Business Analyst to join the team. Forming part of the Organisational Projects Team and broader interdisciplinary team, our Business Analysts will be empowered to work directly with business sponsors, stakeholders and SMEs to plan, scope and deliver foundation, transformative and innovative projects.


With a new Strategic Direction underpinned by a strong ICT Strategic Roadmap which defines the required Technology Program, this is a unique opportunity for the right person – you will be empowered to mature our business analysis capability as a centre of excellence from the ground up working amongst a talented and inspiring team of people working hard to support those living, working and travelling across Western Australia.


About the role


- Work with project teams, key stakeholders, and SMEs to gather and define business requirements and decisions from initial conception through the entire project lifecycle, validate feasibility of information and technology, technology solution selection and service improvements, with ability to analyse trends to enable information business decisions, technology solution selection and service improvements.
- Map current and future state processes to support achieving business requirements, the ICT Strategic Roadmap and Strategic Direction.
- Lead, support, and input as required into the development of scoping and delivery of business cases ensuring case for change is properly articulated with project outcomes and benefits clearly defined and measurable.
- Assist with managing the transition of new or enhanced systems/processes into the business.
- Utilise multiple methods to engage, communicate and convey information across the business and facilitate strong working relationships with key stakeholders to support collaboration, build trust and instil confidence.
- Lead defining, implementation and continuous improvement of new business methodologies and supporting processes across all business areas to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Work with the ICT teams and providers to translate complex business requirements into achievable solutions and options to optimise business performance, outcomes and benefits.
- Lead change and process improvements across all business areas to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Prepare accurate estimates of costs and resources required for projects and business as usual (once project delivers) across the project lifecycle.
- Monitor performance against corporate, project and team KPIs, action plans and other targets, taking necessary action to identify, manage, control and report on risks and issues and ensure continuous improvement.


About you


- Demonstrated experience as a business analyst in a large, complex organisation undertaking a large technology or digital transformation program.
- Demonstrated experience in gathering business requirements and translation into potential business and technology solutions.
- Strong process mapping experience.
- Strong experience in development of scoping and delivery business cases.
- Tertiary business qualifications, computer science or other relevant qualifications with additional project delivery and business analysis certification including BABOK, Prince2, ITIL, MSP or like certifications
- Outstanding analytical skills and creativity in developing approaches to problem solving
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and plan work effectively, remain adaptive and flexible and coordinate office procedures and activities
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA.
