An Oceans to Outback to remember >

This year's Oceans to Outback fitness and fundraising challenge was one to remember, with over $4.5 million raised nationally to support the Flying Doctor.

More than 18,000 people took part, covering a whopping 1.1 million kilometres by walking, running or riding.

SA-based participants were invited to a tour of the Adelaide Base in early October to get a closer look of the life-saving work of the Flying Doctor teams.

40 years of making tracks >

The Simpson Desert Bike Challenge hit an incredible milestone this year – celebrating their 40th anniversary of the event.

The five-day event covered more than 500km, 700-odd sand dunes, salt lakes, vast cattle stations and gibber plains.

With contributions from all riders, they've now raised over $400,000 across 40 years to help keep the Flying Doctor flying.

Exact Contracting renews >

We're incredibly grateful that our friends at Exact Contracting are back on board as a Community Partner for the next 12 months.

Supporting our 2027 Double Up for the Doc Day and 'Wings for Life' Gala Ball, their contribution will help keep the Flying Doctor flying for more Australians.

Sporting support >

We were delighted to be selected as Charity Partner for this year's 2026 Masters Games in Alice Springs.

After some tumultuous weather, many sports were shuffled around by organisers to more suitable locations, but thankfully everyone remained safe. Our RFDS road ambulance team was also on hand to ensure participants were cared for.

We were thrilled to meet athletes from all over Australia, with some of the RFDS crew even participating themselves!

These boots were made for walking >

The Barratt family recently put their best foot forward for the RFDS – walking the entire width of the Simpson Desert to raise vital funds for the Flying Doctor.

Three Barratt generations – grandad, son and grandsons – spent over two weeks in the sand, heat and flies, raising over $30,000 in the process.

Before setting off, they dined for a 'last supper' at the famous Mount Dare Hotel – longstanding supporters of the RFDS.

A driving force >

For the second year running, the 'Cheeky Trekkers' participated in the Outback Car Trek, doing their bit to help keep the Flying Doctor flying.

Across two years, this crew has raised nearly $30,000 for the RFDS – and they're already gearing up for 2027!

Team Cobber also returned to the Trek for another year, bringing their fundraising efforts to more than $1.3 million across their decade-long support.
