About this Opportunity


Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager – Strategy, Brand & Reputation, as the Tourism Manager NT, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, business development and operational management of the RFDS SA/NT’s tourism business, comprising the RFDS Alice Springs Tourist Facility and RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility.

Specifically, you will:


- Build and maintain a commercially focused, customer-centric culture within RFDS SA/NT’s tourism business and positions each tourist facility as the ‘number one’ tourist attraction in Darwin and Alice Springs, respectively.
- Manage, mentor and support the facility managers and staff to optimise user experience and achieve implement destination marketing and retail (souvenirs) plans in accordance with the overarching business plan.
- Establish and maintain relationships and lead contract/pricing management with key tourism partners and customers locally and throughout Australia.
- Manage and coordinate RFDS SA/NT’s involvement within tourism events (famils, trade and key projects), as well as representation at local community and fundraising events, conferences and shows.
- Manage and retain RFDS SA/NT compliance with tourism industry certifications and accreditations to support our position as a leading tourism provider and contributor to the NT tourism industry.
- Support the broader Philanthropy & Engagement team to identify, foster and manage local third-party fundraisers, corporate sponsorships and donor relationships.


About You


You are:


- An experienced sales and/or marketing consultant with experience in the tourism sector (NT preferred), or in tourism destination development.
- A creative and innovative thinker.
- A strong communicator with the ability to form, foster and manage positive relationships.
- Experienced in e-commerce and digital marketing platforms.
- A strong problem solver with analytical thinking, and organisational and planning skills.
- Experienced with budget management and hold financial aptitude to support commercial activities and programs.

To be considered for the role you require:


- Degree qualifications in Tourism, Marketing, Business Management, Economic Development or substantial relevant on-the-job experience in a comparable field.
- A current and valid driver’s licence issued from an Australian State or Territory.
- Capacity for regular NT and interstate travel.
