About the Opportunity
As the Senior Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Advisor – Systems and Assurance, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and evolving RFDS SA/NT's integrated SHEQ management framework. Reporting to the Manager, SHEQ, you will drive governance, assurance activities and system improvements that support safe, compliant and high-performing operations across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the implementation, maintenance and enhancement of integrated SHEQ systems and processes.
- Managing assurance programs, audits and corrective action frameworks to support organisational compliance and continuous improvement.
- Developing policies, procedures, reporting frameworks and governance documentation.
- Monitoring system performance through meaningful reporting, dashboards and trend analysis.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to leaders and stakeholders on SHEQ systems, risk management and assurance requirements.
- Supporting organisation-wide capability development through training, coaching and awareness initiatives.
- Supervising and mentoring the SHEQ Coordinator while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partnering with operational and corporate teams to drive consistent SHEQ practices across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

About You
You are an experienced safety, health, environment and quality professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing or improving SHEQ, WHS, quality or assurance management systems within a complex, multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, auditing, governance, corrective action processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional policy and procedure development skills, including document control and system governance experience.
- Well-developed analytical, reporting and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading change initiatives and driving practical business improvements.
- The ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality outcomes.
- Proven capability in coaching, mentoring and supporting team members.
- Advanced digital literacy and experience using reporting, assurance or management systems. Relevant tertiary qualifications in work health and safety, quality, environmental management, auditing, risk management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
