The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Central Operations (RFDSCO) seeks collaborative and innovative leaders to support our vision of providing the finest care to rural and remote Australians.

About the Opportunity


We are seeking an engaging and dynamic leader with strong experience at a senior leadership level who can effectively lead and manage the operational aeromedical nursing requirements, key stakeholder relationships and actively contribute to the strategic direction of the RFDSCO. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Medical and Retrieval Services, the Retrieval Nursing Director will provide strong leadership to a motivated team of flight nurses to enable the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.

· have strong commercial acumen and discipline to drive quality business outcomes
· have experience leading quality improvement and organisational change processes in a health care environment
· actively seek out new opportunities for improving and expanding services

Essential Criteria

Registered Nurse with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registration
Postgraduate qualification in critical care or emergency medicine
Extensive recent senior leadership within a healthcare environment (min. of 5+ years)
Proven ability to lead and develop people and create high-performing teams
Ability to work at both a strategic and operational management level
Experience in managing challenging and demanding daily operational issues with composure and confidence
Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

Ideally, you will also have a well-developed understanding of rural and remote Australia and the challenges of providing first class healthcare within these environments.
