About this Role
Our new road ambulance operational team deliver a patient transport service for our patients. The team are immediately available to transport patients to and from our Adelaide Base. They form an end-to-end transport for our retrieval patients arriving at Adelaide Base where they will be immediately transported to hospital, improving the overall experience for patients and staff.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Patient Transport Officer (PTO) will transport patients with a range of medical conditions and work collaboratively with the team to ensure optimum patient care during transport and at RFDS facilities.
The PTO will be responsible for maintaining all equipment and vehicles in a state of operational readiness and ensure the security, safety and maintenance of allocated equipment and goods in accordance with RFDS standards. The PTO will maintain comprehensive and accurate records to ensure that patient transport records are available for future reference as well as assist and carry out patient care within their scope of practice and in accordance with RFDS policy, procedure and regulations.
About You
You will hold a Cert III (Non-Emergency Patient Transport), a Cert IV in Health Care (Ambulance) or equivalent qualifications. A Diploma or Bachelor of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) or equivalent will be highly regarded.
