About this Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Senior Dentist and Manager Oral Health Program, as the Oral Health Therapist, you will be motivated to provide individualised oral hygiene care and treatment to remote communities and help to improve general health and wellbeing. You will be inspired to contribute to the objectives of the Oral Health Program and Integrated Primary Health Program objectives to ensure target communities in remote SA and NT receive Oral health services that they would otherwise not have access to.

Specifically, you will:
- Provide comprehensive oral health services in the target communities in partnership with the Primary Health Care Team for specific target population groups (chronic disease, children under 3, mental health and maternity patients).
- Deliver preventive focussed services and oral health education tailored to patients’ requirements (including establishment of treatment plans).
- Develop and implement a prevention based clinical program to be delivered at education, aged care and other facilities with high-risk population groups.
- Participate in remote clinics with Primary Health Service providers for Chronic disease management.
About You
You are:
- Able to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team contributing to holistic patient centred care.
- Clinically competent in the provision of oral health promotion and general dental services as they pertain to remote communities.
- Equipped with an understanding of Dental Practice guidelines, standards and ethical codes of conduct.
- Sensitive to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) individuals and communities.
To be considered for the role you require:
- A Bachelor of Oral Health
- Unconditional registration with AHPRA
- Current Registration with the Dental Board of Australia
