About the Opportunity
In a health services organisation, infection control requirements are stringent. The high acuity, remote, aeromedical environment of the RFDSCO adds another layer to infection control and risk management requirements for our patients and staff. Reporting to the Retrieval Nursing Director, the Infection Control Nurse is responsible for ensuring RFDSCO leads in best practice quality and safety standards and culture regarding infection control.
The Infection Control Nurse will also be responsible for reviewing current clinical practice, and developing, delivering and monitoring infection control improvement policies, procedures, and strategies in line with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. The role will also contribute to incident reviews pertinent to the prevention and control of healthcare associated infection, and deliver training and competency assessment (including fit testing) to ensure the competence of all staff.
About you
You will be a motivated and experienced AHPRA Registered General Nurse, with a knowledge and understanding of the NSQHS Standards, relevant legislation and regulations. You will demonstrate the ability to analyse and utilise clinical data in service development and quality improvement initiatives. With a keen attention to detail, you will also have excellent report writing and influencing skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
