Working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in Central Australia, you will support communities in remote Alice Springs within the scope of the Mental Health Services in Rural and Remote Areas (MHRSSA) program. RFDS Central Operations is seeking to fill the following vacancies.

Aboriginal Mental Health Worker
The Aboriginal Mental Health Worker further develops and delivers mental health services to Indigenous communities. The role will work closely with communities, providing education in respect to mental health issues, and assist with the identification and development of care plans for people with chronic mental illnesses. You will be required to hold a recognised Aboriginal Health Worker or Mental Health qualification. For the position description, please click here.

Aboriginal Liaison Worker
The Aboriginal Liaison Worker assists with the delivery of mental health services to Indigenous communities. You will have significant experience working with Aboriginal people who are experiencing mental health, alcohol or drug issues, and a demonstrated knowledge of, and sensitivity to mental health issues affecting Aboriginal people. To be successful in these roles you will have:
  • A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultures, customs and history
  • Working knowledge of Aboriginal family structures
  • Experience in delivering mental health services in rural and remote settings
