  • No fees
  • Our Doctors, Nurses and Health Clinicians all specialise in regional and remote health care.
  • They can join skills to provide unique care plans for complex health issues, such as diabetes, obesity, respiratory, cardiovascular and kidney disease. 
  • All services are available to residents and workers living more than 80 kilometres (80km) from a hospital or general practice in Outback SA.
  • Your Medicare number is only required for prescriptions, pathology, radiology and some specialist referrals. Self-referrals are welcome.
  • RFDS Community Health Services are delivered via: 

1) Visiting Care: regularly scheduled fly-in/fly-out clinics.

2) Virtual Care: telehealth consults; screen or phone, Monday - Friday.

3) Local Care: fixed clinics in remote locations, staffed 24/7.

Andamooka, Arckaringa, Balcanoona, Billa Kalina, Blinman, Bulgunnia, Cadney Homestead, Clifton Hills, Commonwealth Hill, Cook, Cowarie, Dulkaninna, Etadunna, Glendambo, Hiltaba, Ingomar, Innamincka, Kalamurina, Kingoonya, Lake Everard, Leigh Creek, Maralinga, Marla, Marree, McDouall Peak, Mobella, Mulgathing, Muloorina, Murnpeowie, Mt Eba, Mt Ive, Mt Lyndhurst, Mungerannie, Nilpinna, Oak Valley, Oodnadatta, The Peake, Todmorden, Twins, William Creek, Yalata, and Yunta.


Visiting Primary & Allied Health Clinics

  • Primary Health visits provide remote patients with regular face-to-face consults with a Doctor, Midwife, Specialist Nurse or Mental Health Worker.
  • Allied Health visits offer patients regular access to our team of practitioners who specialise in several areas, such as: feet, physiotherapy, nutrition, and daily wellbeing.

Visiting Dental & Oral Health Clinics

  • Regularly visiting the towns of Andamooka, Innamincka, Kingoonya, Marla, Marree, Oodnadatta and Leigh Creek, with state-of-the-art mobile dental equipment, our oral health care teams provide everything, from simple check-ups, x-rays and hygiene services through to fillings and extractions.

Local Care

24/7 Remote Area Clinics in Andamooka, Innamincka, Marla and Marree

RFDS has four remote health facilities that are permanently staffed with nursing teams ready to provide urgent care assistance 24/7.

Our remote nursing teams are always ready to provide urgent care when needed and can also tend to primary health needs of local residents, from immunisations and chronic disease management, treating lacerations and burns, to social, emotional and wellbeing chats over a cuppa.

Remote Oral Health Care in the NT

  • RFDS Remote Oral Care teams regularly visit Kiwirrkurra, Mutitjulu, and Walungurru communities. 
  • They also treat remote patients who are in Mparntwe/Alice Springs to access Purple House services.
  • Clinics provide free oral health care, from simple check-ups, x-rays and hygiene services through to fillings and extractions.

    Mental Health & Social Wellbeing in the NT

    • With an office based in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, our Mental Health & Social Wellbeing team regularly travel Central Australia to provide remote area patients with face-to-face care and support.  
    • The team can also provide group programs.
    • No fees are payable by patients for these services. Self-referrals are welcome.
