The RFDS in WA
Emergency & Retrieval
Our WA aircraft fleet, consists of 16 Pilatus PC-12 turbo prop aircraft and 2 PC-24 jets, covering the 2.5 million square kilometres of our vast state.
The RFDS provides critical life saving intervention through Inter Hospital Transfers, flying patients between hospitals within the state, as well as Primary Evacuations throughout the whole of Western Australia as well as Christmas and Cocos Islands, usually when a patient with serious illness or injury requires a medical transfer to a large regional or tertiary centre for definitive care.
Our services operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are managed from our state-wide Coordination Centre at the Jandakot facility.
