When Australia bites...

As an experienced ranger of 30 years, Craig knows all about the dangers of living and working in remote Australia. 

While fishing at Captain Billy Landing, almost 900km north of Cairns, he knew to check for crocodile tracks before picking his spot. And he stood well back from the shoreline, keeping one eye on what was going on around him the whole time. 

Yet, as he packed his gear up for the day, the unexpected happened. 

“I turned around and the croc had come up behind me. The next thing I knew I was up in the air. The only thing I could think to do was shove my thumb in its eyeball.”

In the blink of an eye, a relaxing fishing trip had turned into a fight for his life.
