For National Wellness Week 2022 Scottsdale businesses are offering specials on healthy options at their stores all week and the community will come together on Sunday, March 20 No find new ways to feel good in body and mind.
There are several distance options for those who want to participate in the walk, run or ride down Billycock Hill (see the graphic below) and the whole community is invited to, at the very least, walk a lap of the Recreation Ground oval to show unity in promoting health and wellbeing for all ages.
The community walk at 10am will lead into the Wellness Expo, which boasts more than 20 service providers, plenty of food, refreshments, kid's activities, music and fun.
Entry for the walk, run and ride and for the expo is a gold coin donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service to support its dental, physical and mental health care services in the north-east of Tasmania.
Local Bobby Young has lost 50kg and found a new lease on life by working with RFDS physical and mental health workers and he has committed to walking the full 27km! He is challenging everyone to take a step towards better health and less chronic disease.
Choose your challenge from the table below, be at the Rec an hour beforehand to register and local shuttle buses and bike shuttles will be on hand to take you up Billycock Hill if you don't have your own means of transport.
