Every day the RFDS accesses airstrips around the state of Western Australia. Through the statewide airstrip survey and evaluation program sponsored by CBH Group, the condition of almost 750 airstrips are reviewed regularly to ensure they are maintained and safe for aircraft landings.

As many of these are remote airstrips and often not used regularly, it is important to ensure they are accessible and safe for landing on when delivering essential medical care, or evacuating patients from remote locations.

The RFDS is now sharing this airstrip information regularly with the Western Australian Police Air Wing Service.

Initiating this collaboration with CBH and the WA Police is another example of how the RFDS continues its leadership role in delivering life-saving outcomes to the people of Western Australia.
