On Sunday 26 April 2015 the Flying Doctors said good luck and farewell to 65 year old Doug Mullett who was beginning his epic 5,500km fundraising trek.

Doug aimed to raise $6000 for the RFDS Victoria which was the cost of his evacuation to Adelaide when he came off SUZI on 25th September 2014. Doug was travelling through outback NSW on his motorbike where he was about 267 km north of Broken Hill when tragedy struck and he came off his motorbike and hit the road. He was picked up by the Flying Doctors and flown to Adelaide hospital, where thankfully he made a full recovery.
