It’s not too late to make a New Year’s resolution. You could make a huge difference to the men, women  and children in remote, rural and regional Australia by choosing the Royal Flying Doctor Service as your charity of choice.

And knowing you’ve helped outback communities, you can have a greater sense of purpose and help your resolution stick.

Andrew Pardoe (pictured right) has been donating regularly to the Royal Flying Doctor Service for 25 years, and urged others to do the same.

“I would encourage people to make the Flying Doctor the charity they give to,” Andrew said.

“Picture yourself in the outback – maybe you’ve had a car accident and you need medical help – who are you going to call for help? The Flying Doctors. We need to support them so they can keep doing the great job they do.”

Andrew said he first became enamoured with the Royal Flying Doctor Service when he read the book Flynn of the Inland by Ion Idriess many years ago.

“What struck me was the remoteness of the people of the outback and the distance they are from any medical help, and how the Flying Doctor is able to help them. It’s been part of my life ever since. I feel that I have a real affinity with the Service.”
