Are you a doctor with a passion for Primary Care and an interest in working in a unique rural and remote setting in Outback NSW?

The Royal Flying Doctor South East Section (RFDSSE) is seeking experienced generalist doctors (either Fellows or Senior registrars with ACRRM or RACGP or recognised overseas

RFDSSE offers training and an ability to develop your leadership skills in primary care, on the emergency retrieval roster or in a unique Telehealth environment.

The RFDS provides flying clinics, base clinics, remote outreach and emergency care 24/7 from its head quarters in Broken Hill. You will receive the warmest welcome when you arrive at any of our seventeen remote clinics and community facilities wherein you will be busy managing the full breadth of diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.

Our aircraft are modern, safe and pressurized. You will also have ability to work with peers of an exceptional calibre eager to support your professional development.

Supported by local and State-wide critical care and Emergency specialist colleagues, the RFDS Primary Care/ Rural Generalist doctors work as part of a team that includes Chronic disease, Women's and Children's Practice Nurses, Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Practitioners, Dental and Oral Health Therapists and Community Engagement Workers.

RFDSSE has recently renegotiated a 2017 Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with its medical officers that rewards and recognises experience and seniority in line with industry standards.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Unconditional General or Specialist registration with AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (or recognised overseas equivalent)
  • Advanced rural skills in Emergency medicine, Obstetrics, mental Health, Indigenous health, Paediatrics, Anaesthetics or Internal medicine an advantage but not essential.
  • For Registrars (RFDSSE and Clive Bishop Medical Centre are accredited for General Practice Training and can accept registrars training with Australian GP Training organisations (GP Synergy), the Remote Vocational Training Scheme or through ACRRM Independent Pathway.
